1. Is it a virus or malware?

Answer: No. Honeygain is a legitimate "proxyware" application. It has been independently verified and is trusted by major antivirus engines like Windows Defender, Avast, and Bitdefender. It is also a member of AMTSO (Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization), which confirms its product integrity.

2. Can it see my personal files or photos?

Answer: Never. The app is designed to be permission-less. It doesn’t ask for access to your storage, contacts, or camera. It only uses your internet connection. It’s physically impossible for the app to "spy" on your files because it doesn't have the permissions to see them.

3. Does it track my browsing history?

Answer: No. Honeygain only acts as a gateway for businesses to access the public internet (like checking the price of a flight on a travel site). It does not "watch" what you are doing in your other tabs or apps.

4. Who is actually using my internet?
